Thirteenth Adjustment

Yesterday was my thirteenth adjustment. I saw a different orthodontist at the practive. I received a new wire on the top. It was the same as my last wire on the top, but they wanted to replace it. I also had a bracket repositioned on tooth 23. The also place the old wire back on the bottom with the same bend. My front teeth were tied top and bottom with a steel wire tie. I still have to wear the elastics in the same configuration from my last appointment. My next adjustment is 01/19/2010 at 3:10 PM. I am unhappy with the way my bottom teeth look. I have a huge black triangle from the extraction site and the orthodontist I saw yesterday seemed like he didn't care and wanted me to speak with my orthodontist. The gum line is a lot lower in that area than other teeth. I have been slacking with the photos, but I will post them.

SOS Appointment/Twelfth Adjustment

I went in for an SOS Appointment today for a broken lower arch wire. They also decided to complete my Twelfth adjustment during the SOS visit. The appointment on 11/24/2009 is cancelled. During this appointment I received a new lower wire with a weird bend on the left side near the last molar. They broke the clip off the molar tube and tied the wire in with a metal tie. I received a new cleat on the second bicuspid on the left side upper arch. I have a new configuration going on. On the left side... From the inside of the top 2nd molar to the inside of the 2nd bicuspid to the front of the lower 2nd molar to the front of the lower 2nd bicuspid. It makes like a box shape. On the other side I have an elastic running from the inside of my top 2nd molar to the outside of the bottom 2nd molar. They said my top arch is too narrow (crossbite) and they are using this along with a wire to widen the top arch. My next adjutment is 12/22/2009 at 9:30 am. They plan to reposition a lower bracket and begin closing space between two lower incisors.

Dental Cleaning/Exam

On Saturday 10/24/2009 I had a dental cleaning and an exam. My teeth are fine and I have no cavities. My next dental appointment is 05/08/2010.

Eleventh Adjustment

Today I received cleats on the inside of my top back molars. I am wearing a (Korea) rubber bands from the inside of the top molars to the bottom molars. I received an 018 straight wire to help expand the top. They said I have a cross bite and want to start working on that. They also tied the upper 6 and bottom 6 with a braided stainless steel tie. I have my next appointment on 11/24/2009 at 8:20 AM.

Tenth Adjustment

Today was my tenth adjustment and I received a new wire on the bottom and clear powerchains. I am not sure of the wire size. My eleventh adjustment is 10/31/2009 at 8:00 AM.

Ninth Adjustment

Today was my ninth adjustment. I received two new wires. The top was a 16x16 bioforce wire and and 16 lower. The bottom wire is thinner but will help rotate my canine that won't seem to move. I am not wearing elastics currently. My next adjustment will be on 08/31/2009 at 8:20 AM.

Eighth Adjustment

Today was my eigth adjustment. I saw the same orthodontist I saw last time. I received an 018 steel wire on the top. I believe this wire is for expansion. It is very tight. I received an 016 steel wire on the bottom. Both wires are black in color. They had trouble getting the wire on my lower canine on the right. They tied is in with wire tie. They also tied all my front lower teeth with wire. The top front teeth were also tied with wire again. Just not braided like last time. I am also still using the Korea elastics. My next adjustment is 07/14/2009 at 8:50 AM. That will also be one day from my one year anniversary. I have really been slacking with pictures. I forgot to do it for the last adjustment. I will remember this time.

SOS Appointment

On Thursday (05/08/2009) I had an SOS appointment to clip the back of wire on the lower arch. They also re-chained the lower arch.

Elastics

Yesterday I received the Korea 6 MM class III elastics in the mail. I am switching back to these and will keep the South America 8 MM class III elastics as a back-up.

Seventh Adjustment

Today I had my seventh adjustment. I saw a different orthodontist at the practice. I am received a new clear chain elastic (power chain) on the bottom and a power thread to assist in closing the gap. I do not have a wire change. My top teeth are still braided with the same metal wire as last adjustment. Next visit I will receive a new wire on the top. This wire will expand the top arch. They ran out of Korea elastics so they gave me South America elastics to wear. I will post pictures for the this adjustment and my last adjustment soon. My next adjustment is 06/01/2009 at 9:00 AM.

Dental Cleaning/Exam

On 04/11/2009 I had a dental cleaning and exam. Everything went well. No cavities. My teeth feel much cleaner. My next cleaning is 10/24/2009 at 1:10 PM.

Sixth Adjustment

During this adjustment I saw a different Orthodontist at the practice. I did not have a wire change. I did not get chain elastics on my top arch this time. I did get clear chain elastics on the bottom arch. They did braid my top arch with metal wire. This will keep the top teeth were they are. I also received class III elastics 6mm (1/4") Super Heavy 6 oz/Korea. They elastics are put on the same way as my fifth adjustment. I will go back for my seventh adjustment on 04/20/2009 at 8:20 AM. I will post pictures at a later date.

Fifth Adjustment

Yesterday (2/16/2009) I had my fifth adjustment. I did not have a wire change in this adjustment. I no longer have to wear my elastics. Who knows how long that will last? I did get clear power chains on the top and bottom. This is the most painful adjustment to date. My teeth have been hurting the whole time (mostly my top arch). I will post pictures later. My Sixth Adjustment will be 3/23/2009 at 8:20 AM.

Fourth Adjustment

On 12/30/2008 I had my fourth adjustment. He changed the top wire to a "25/square wire." The bottom wire remained the same. They only placed silver chain elastics on the bottom arch. I also received some class III (8 mm/ 5/16" / Super Heavy / South America) elastics to place from top arch tooth 14 to bottom arch tooth 22 and top arch tooth 3 to bottom arch tooth 27. The orthodontist stated this will start to move the top teeth over the bottom teeth. This was a pretty painful adjustment compared to the last few. I go back again on 2/17/2009 at 8:20 AM for my fifth adjustment. I will post pictures soon.
